Powder coating process [stateside, not PR]

Man, how these threads take their 180 degree turns. From Paul's great looking frame rebuild to Randall's pie baking skills. Can I powder coat MY suspension parts with Gold Medal flour? I'm looking for that nice Golden Brown color to offset my Russet Brown paint.

You have obviously never changed a baby's diaper. There isn't a baby on this planet that ever had this color. You don't start producing that rich Russet Brown color until your about 3+1/2.
 
My baby's as my wife says will be her babies until they and we are dead.And probably after.

Buy a Sears plastic shed and cook powder coating
of TR6 parts as a sideline!

Turkeys, hams and whole pigs, as well.
Get a beer license, while you're at it.

Polish/clean or not it looks good.

I won't be doing any of that. This started out as a suspension system rebuild, then morphed into the chassis clean and paint and no is what it is.

All, in all, I'm glad that I'm finally getting this done. The next big project will be the gauges and a refinish of the veneer on the instrument panel. Springtime and a warm garage needed for that one.

So why not do the gauges on your family room table?
You can easily powder coat the outer rims in the
kitchen oven.

Just curious Dale, but are there any drugs involved with these cruises that you take? It seems that when you return, your ideas tend to run a bit away from the norm.

I wouldn't being heading for a cruise if I did either of those, but there would probably be lawyers involved.

No drugs other than vitamins and lung puffers.
The cruises do tend to bring out the best of
my creative side.

I guess if you add in the cost of mandadted cruises,
my cost per hour drive time in my TR6 is awfully high!!

Other than the clutch, Amos running like a champ!

Not too big deal, Paul. Clutch hydraulic hose
getting ready to burst again. I'll have a couple
new SS hoses made up next week and hopefully get
a new one in before the old one blows.

Dale, why do you think that a braided stainless clutch hose is ready to burst? It's physically impossible for you to generate enough force to exceed the burst pressure of a properly built hose. In excess of 25,000 PSI, if the hose and fittings are correct.

I know nothing about psi within the TR6 clutch system.
I DO know two plastic hydraulic hoses blew up on me once
the clutch pedal started getting difficult to push to the floor. (like it is now)

I replaced the plastic with braided SS hose hoping it was
stronger. I think I'm actually over 300 miles on the SS hose
and 100% new every clutch component. Maybe the hose is just
wearing out from heavy urban use?

Remember, I have zero experience with routine maintenance
of a TR6. 100% of my TR6 knowledge is repair/replacement
after breakdowns.

Nah Bill-

I keep waiting for the dreaded "pop" sound as the hose
bursts, the clutch pedal falls to the floor and the car
staggers to a stop in a pool of hydraulic fluid in the
middle of the road. I've been there twice.

I need to have few spare braided SS hoses fabricated,
just to be safe.

BTW: Is this a fairly common maintenance item on Triumphs?
Routinely replacing the clutch hoses? I'm still learning
much about this car.
