Very sorry we missed your initial post - it was not intentional I assure you. I think if you give us another chance you will find we have a pretty good bunch of folks here. I'll be honest, I'd like to have more Jag folks here, but we're working on it. Myself, I have a 67 EType OTS (Series I) that I am in the process of restoring.

Heck if I lived in Germany I'm sure I'd be driving mine every day too! Your autobahns are terrific and what a great place to own a EType! I rented an Alfa once when I was in Germany for a week and blasted all over the country. I don't think I ever had my foot off the floor board - it was great fun!
I plan to drive mine often too if I ever get it back together (but maybe not in bad weather, but only because of the about of work that I have done to bring it back to like new condition).

Why not, I know one guy out here in salty Ontario who drives a 1970's Mini all winter as his beater (his pampered classic is Wolseley 6/110). Another guy I know here has 283,000 miles on his Triumph TR3, how many high mileage TR3's do you know?
As for the classic I hope to own one day, I intend to use it regularly in the summer, almost as a summer daily driver. I don't want a trailer queen!

I am particularly sorry that this busy time of year over here has caused me to miss your posts. I minored in German in College, and loved the language. Unfourtunately, since that time I have become very rusty, there is little chance to pratice in Arkansas, and my native Texan comes out far too clearly in my attempts, sort of an "oofweederseen, Ya'll." sort of thing, but I try.
Worst being while I was working at Dillard's and an Austrian couple came through, after trotting out my crusty German, and apparently mispronouncing "Deutche ware meine Nebenfach am die Uni." caused her to think that I had ... well ... Studied under a lady or something of the sort.
So welcome to the forum.
