Play in timing chain

How much is too much on a 1275 engine?

Thanks,
Walter

According to my Hanes, "Lay a straight edge along the slack leg of the chain. Run and measure the extent of chain slack from the straight edge. If it is more than 0.4" (10mm) the chain should be renewed.

I've always used 1/2" so I guess this is pretty close. The 1275 doesn't have a tensioner does it?

Hope this helps,
JC

No tensioner. Yes, this helps a lot.

Thanks
Walter
