Rich, unless I'm very mistaken, you need to shim the rotor to move it away from the inner pad. Shimming the caliper will move the inner pad closer to the rotor. I don't know where to get 0.010 shim washers, but somebody else probably does. I wonder if the inner pad could be milled to take off .010.

I'm sorry I missed seeing your last post until today. Here is the picture of my original brake hose in the bracket.

Update:
I got a reply from AHSpares and they are sending the shims gratis. Thanks for the photo of the brake line. I figured it out from your comments as well as searching Randy's Photo gallery.

I noticed that I need those dust seals on the idler and steering box...order again!!!
Anything else missing?
 
I should mention that I am in awe of what you have accomplished building a virtually new car. I would hate to have to pay your parts bills, though.

Most of the parts are cleaned up and repainted originals made to look new. The only new parts are fasteners, bushings, seals, anything missing and anything I'm upgrading....
My goal is to spend less in the total cost than the value at the end of the project.....The upholstery could break the goal.

P.S. This is my very first car project. It's been great fun and I've learned a ton. Also have been able to spend some wonderful time with my 15 year old son (Austin Haley..hence the car)....as they say...priceless! :cheers:
 
Then I am in awe of all the work you did to make everything look new. It is also great to have your son working with you. I was 15 when I apprenticed with my older brother in working on many cars including an MG TF 1500.

You probably covered this in another thread, but what color is your car? Looks like and Aston Martin Sage green, but light in photo images can do funny things!

Planning a dark green carpet with biscuit or ivory leather seats and green piping. dark green vinyl door panels and dark green soft top. Dash and trunk black.

I almost looks like the Healey's engine color. Be careful, or you won't be able to find it in the engine bay. :wink:

I just went through your whole photo album... congratulations on what you've accomplished to this point!! Excellent work! You've come a long way and it really gets excited when you see it coming together. I also applaud you on all the work you have done yourself.

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you, who's photos I have looked at for the past year! I can only hope my car turns as well as your did. Mine will be a bit closer to factory as far as the mechanics go. I love that people I have learned so much from are active on this website. I hope to get to meet a bunch of you in the upcoming years once I can drive my "Aston-Healey" :wink:
