Okay... I confess to pushing myself too hard with my photogarphy... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Last weekend on a damp day downtown, I took very few photos, but did manage to take this street portrait before the rain came down heavy...

By the accounts of a few people, my best street portrait yet... And since one other person always shows off his art here, I think it's my turn... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

And the next day did a portrait session with someone and got this photo amongst others...

Perhaps a real coming out now? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif But not perfect yet... Still lots to learn...

James -

Portrait's really nice.

But the street scene - great find! Keep it up - looks to this non-trained eye that you're on the right track.

Yeah... I seem to specialize in the gritty side of things for the most part... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I think it's dubbed: "photojournalism" actually.

You're getting the hang of it, my Uncle John was an amateur
photographer in Oz, won awards and all that stuff, His theory
was to never do a portrait with the subject looking directly
into the camera, but always the eyes toward at said camera...

That street portrait is very nice -- my kind of photo, and I'm also a big fan of black and white. Funny how the lack of color makes the images more lifelike.

Thanks Steve, Drew...

Yeah, I think starting to get the hang of it more now, now hopefully I can just keep it up... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

@Steve

I often prefer my street portrait subject to not look at the camera, I'll go either way really...

I thought he looked familiar too... but he was a Lotus owner in PA inna mid '70's when I knew 'im.

...chap must get around. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Your street portraits remind me of "visual" Tom Waites songs!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Yeah... He isn't a composite drawing folks... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Love that Tom Waits comment, although I'm not that familiar with his music. I'll make an assumption and take that as a compliment... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Yeah! That's a good'n!! "Smallchange got wasted"! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
