Petronix hookup problem

My positive ground 67 B got a new Flamethrower last week, and at that time I just disconnected the existing terminal connections and reconnected to the new coil. Tonight I tried to install my new ignitor to complement the new coil. Before the ignitor, I had a wire running from coil negative terminal to the side of the distributor and the positive terminal was connected back to the powerblock. This setup worked fine for quite a while. Now when following the directions in the ignitor, I have a black/white wire going from the coil negative terminal into the distributor, and the wire that was hooked up to the positive terminal on the coil is now connected to the other (black) wire coming from the ignitor. Another change is that now I have a ground wire attached to the positive terminal on the coil and the engine turns over fine, but won't start.
What am I missing?

Answered by the great support team at pertronix. I had neglected to re-install the rotor cap. Everybody at ease, go back to your homes, there's nothing for you here. :savewave:

LOL, don't you just love it when you do something like that?

OMG...I hate when that happens...or when I put the boat in the water and realize that I didn't put the drain plug in  But then, who hasn't done something like that?

A trick I'm famous for.

"WHY th' frell does the thing not just chime up?!?!" :madder:

".....oh."

It went like this:
Marvin from Pertronix, who I've grown quite fond of, says" Ok so you've got the old points and condensor out and the adapter plate, magnet shield and rotor are back in............
Mike says, "well alrighty then, thanks Marvin I think we're all set."
I should be a friggin genius by now having learned so much from so many mistakes. Fortunately most of my mistakes are harmless enough and only cost me time and a bit o' change. Things like brakes and fuel I tend to triple check.
But yeah yer right, I hate when that happens. :wall:

By the way for the two people in the world who haven't made the switch to electronic iggys, do it today! Amazing difference all around, well worth it. even worth doing twice LOL!!
