Personal question..little bio info??

Older than dirt, older than Jack Laird, trying to finish my sons Bugeye which I tore apart right after he graduated from High School. He's 39. (I'm 70)

Until recently, I've always done all my own stuff (except chrome and some machine work). I actually paid to have someone else do a clutch job on my big Healey a couple of months ago. First time anyone else has touched anything mechanical on one of my cars in over 40 years.

Marv, welcome and a joy to have someone my age and even doing a bugeye, pics??

46 with 4 boys all playing football, wrestling, and lacrosse. wonder how i ever get any time to work on my tub. my first car was a 63 VW beetle. the battery fell through the floor the second it was towed into the garage. learn how to work sheet metal and rivet that year ... i also learn my first lesson in patience replacing the beetle's muffler ... my sprite sat for over 25 years before i decided, one day, to stop looking at it ...the rest is history in the making

I have probably logged 20k miles laying on the ''floor'' behind the seats and in front of the engine of a fiat spider. Used to close my eyes and try to guess where we were by listening to the sounds of the engine. That's probably what got me interested in these small cars.

49 Almost 50 finished a 59 Bugeye this spring then lost my mind a boight a 75 mini project. However it is are relaxing to go out in the garage and work on them.

looks like i am the young one of the bunch so far. i am 25 and turn 26 in early january. The project is a slow one so far, but i have plenty of time and it is sitting in a garage.

i was 25 once ... after a while that little car will look like something that has to go ... don't do it! i have heard many stories from people seeing my car and telling me that they used to have one and they sold it or junked it and regretted soon after. don't wait too long. there are things you can start that take only a little time and money. good luck.

Don't worry it isn't going anywhere. The car was orignally my dad's, he then sold it to my uncle who, unfortunatly, passed away in january of this year. My aunt gave me the car. So it is back in my dad's garage. Funny how things come full circle. I have started to take the seats out, and on saturday it is going up on blocks to start working on it more. It is baby blue right now. I am going to get it resprayed that color and i think i may powdercoat steel wheels to match with chrome center caps. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. I hope to have updated pics next week.

I figure it's about time I get in here as well (with my weekly forum check). 22 here, coincidentially, I'll be moving up in early janurary as well. I bought my healey as a weekend car at 21, she runs great right now (althought in storage for the winter).

Turned 40 some months back.
I've lived in Tokyo since '91 with a year or so in Canada a few years ago. Have a couple of Minis stored in Sweden, my natal soil, and Canada.
I drive a '78 de-bumpered Midget here in Tokyo as my daily (and only) driver.
3 year-old dot sits in a bicycle child-seat between/behind the seats, great little 'family car'!
First car was a Mini.

I'm 45, people think I should be older when they first meet me after reading my forum ramblings. I've been racing LBCs since I was about 22. I have Spridet race cars and a 67 MGB GT for the street. Even though I love street Spridgets, the MGB suits my size better for the street. I've always been into cars as a hobby and a profession, about six years ago I decided to do LBC motors, carbs and motor components as a living and opened Acme Speed Shop. I guess you could safely say, I'm car crazy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hay as long as it pays the bills. Cheers.

Hap,

You are living my dream. May I contact you offline some time to ask you how you did it?
