I'm stripping DPO Pedro out of the engine compartment
down to bare metal. Engine in place. Working room is tight.
So it is little by little.

I am priming with Eastwood rust inhibitor grey and
wet sanding it with #800 grit. Is this correct?

I purchased a quart of some high tech, two component,
poly-this-or-that that is totally resistant to brake fluid.

I put on a coat of this and I'm not satisfied with the
result. It is streaky and has brush lines. Does this coat
need to be sanded? If so with what? Do I need to put a
second coat of the good stuff?

I don't know Dale, but any questions I have on Eastwood products I ask on The Eastwood Forum. The forum is also good for asking other general auto body type questions.
 
The initial sanding of primer should be with 400 grit paper to knock down the high spots, then a final sanding using 600 grit to remove scratches.

As to the best way to apply your two part paint, follow the instructions. Keep in mind that not all paints are formulated for brush or roller application, that is they are designed to be sprayed on, usually only 3 mils thick, and set up faster then brush-able paint which is applied thicker and designed to flow.
