Randi - 1967-68....I Corps...Agent Orange problems big time - right now 70% VA disabled & awaiting their final ruling which should move me to 100%....plus, Social Security Disability....plus, because I'm retired, Combat Related Special Compensation pay for my combat disabilities.......so, I know from where those feelings come!
Does LA give reduced license plates if you're 51% or more VA related (here, they're $9.05 regardless of the car)? Also, does the locality where you live waive your property taxes if you're disabled? And here I get 1 free license plate because of my Purple Heart.
There are lots of things out there that nobody tells you about - you have to find them on your own....for example, glasses, hearing aids, prosthetic shoes are just some of the things I receive free because of Agent Orange - along with all my medicine....hypertension is also caused by Agent Orange so I have my own blood pressure machine through VA....& Agent Orange causes Type II Diabetes so all my testing equipment is free through VA.....& most of us whe were involved with it will probably end up with prostate cancer - it's a given!
&, then, there's PTSD...but I don't want to go there......you know what I mean!
Plus, VA is now evaluating me for Desert Storm issues....yes, there were weapons of mass destruction used against us - I'm proof of chemical weapons attacks - & the VA is just coming to grips with it!
But, as you know, you've gotta push VA every day!
& if any of my combat related issues are a cause of my death, Jerri continues to receive payments for her lifetime.
So, I understand that there are circumstances in each of our lives that change the equations.
I posted the SSAN calculations to help Jack decide whether or not he wanted to move his business to another state or take this opportunity to finally retire.
