Hi all,

Haven't posted in a long time - but heres the deal. took my 1977 mgb out yesterday for a 20 mile run and noticed the temp gauge was getting up above where it usually hovers. (I installed a new radiator / hoses / temp sender / etc. a month ago - which seemed to be all ok in +/- 200 miles) After getting home I did some checking and all seemed ok till I got to the fans neither come on after idling to temp and beyond (I never let the car get into the red)- question is where is the inline fuse located for the fans as well as how do you check a temp sender is a ok? any help would be greatly appreciated as I really now have the time to drive it!
 
Take the fan wires off the sensing unit that's in the top passenger side of the radiator...stick a paper clip in them to make a complete circuit to see if the fans come on...if the fans don't work, there's a problem from there forward to the fans....if the fans do work, there's a problem on the other side of the wiring harness from that unit backwards....

Sorry, I'm not an electrical guy, maybe somebody else can make it a bit clearer.
 
thanks tony will try tomorrow for sure. I did read the complete official mgb bentley manual and they said similar but are weak on the in line fuse location.
