Our County has just abandoned recycling.

Many countries in Europe force manufacturers to not mix plastics (or any number of recyleables). Like others have said, this may have to start with the suppliers/makers.

China has rejected our "trash" for a couple of years now (which wasn't the best long-term solution anyway).

In Oregon, plastics are difficult to recycle.

Yesterday afternoon the "new" neighbors had some sort of gathering, a couple cars parked across the street. On departure, one bunch had deposited their fast food detritus onto the ground. I put on a pair of nitrile gloves and gathered it up, carried it to the front entrance of the party house and left it on their doorstep. So far, no reaction.

The Barbarians are at the gate.
