There was a great article in the UK Classic and Sports Car magazine on Mike Cook. He was the PR guy for British Leyland here in the US. He describes the kind of crazy mess "dealerships" were. You could have a garage who'd purchase a 6 or 10 cars, and that was a dealership.
In Atlanta we had Hix Green downtown (maybe it took over Downing Motor Co.) Troncalli (eastside), Baker Motor Co. (Buckhead) ,Colonial Sports Cars (northside) and Andy's Sports Car Centre (westside) which took over Teague which took over Murphy and Hall. That's how I remember it.

I did not spend much time at Hix Green except the time Tullius and the Group44 XKE V12 was there. I worked at Colonial Sports Cars (formerly Allen-Russell) until the last day then started British Car Service in Smyrna.

That's the place, Northside. I brought in a pair of front spindles that needed fited and I think you did it. In fact I seem to remember you had a set of rear disk brakes for a Bugeye in your tool box that you would not let go of. LOL, I wonder why.
Fresno California had an MG dealer, British Motors, if I recall correctly. It was in a very nice art deco building with big picture windows. I woould drive by in the evening and see the beautiful orange, red and greem MGB's and Midgets inside. I was in college then and couldn't afford one. Great image to retain from those days though.
