It would appear that price is not a consideration. I say if it makes you happy, go for it. It does look lovely. When I bought my SC430 my comment was at the end of 'negotiations' we all smiled and shook hands. That was okay with me. Did I get a great deal - no, did they get a great deal - no. So, if you want it, negotiate for a giggle and then have at it. Life is meant to be enjoyed and smiles speak volumes.

well......nice predicament to be in...do not like the non original factors and the price..healey prices are falling.......my tainted vote is for the e-type.......different driving experience.Pete

It is a good looking BJ8. Out of my price range but so is the Triumph Italia which would be a nice addition to your collection though not a "drop top". Go see it, drive it, and make them an offer. Just chalk up the plane ticket and hotel cost to entertainment if you decide against buying.
Bet you will smile no matter the decision!

I heard from the seller and the interior is brand new but the restoration is 12 years old so IMO this car is way overpriced. I paid $72K a year ago for my '63 BJ7 which was a much more recent restoration and probably overpaid for it then, so not about to make them an offer on this car no matter how pretty it seems in the pics.

I'd love an E-Type but wouldn't be happy unless it was almost concours condition and that would be $175K, more money than I'm prepared to invest right now in my fledgling car collection.

So, the search continues...
