Yes Tom, it was full of GE and RCA military test equipment when we flew it, then they would pull the gear out until the next test flight. I flew in the right seat, chief pilot was PIC, she was a bear to land in strong cross winds on our narrow 4,000ft runway! We both got a work out on windy days!Do I detect a Mitchell B-25J bomber in there?
Thanks Paul. A Cherokee 140, the first plane I soloed in. A very LONG time ago.I like old photos, they bring back memories we have a tendency to forget at times. Thanks, Elliot!
How about that, a Cherokee 140 was the first plane I soloed in, in 1963! Started learning to fly when stationed at a Naval airbase up in Kansas in 1956 in an old Luscombe on a dirt-pot hole runway on a farm, (I use the term runway with a bit of reserve), but got shipped out to Gitmo before I got my license. About 6 years later it all came back together! Thanks Paul. A Cherokee 140, the first plane I soloed in. A very LONG time ago.
