Curb feelers were also the rage.
On a Sat. evening or after the high school game, going to the drive-in and having food delivered on trays that hung on the doors by the cutest gals in town. Or just cruise through the A&W, revving the flat head v8, then cruising main street, and mooning those you did not like.
$5 would buy some gas, and you and your gal admission to the drivein theater, then a burger, shakes, and fries afterward, and still have some change in the pocket.
Oh, and I also remember riding my bike while carrying my 22 rifle, and then getting pulled over by a cop. Not for the rifle, but because I was riding on the wrong side of the road and wobbling a bit. No ticket, just a warning, and a wish for me to get some rabbits.
