Old Midget MK I seats - rust - how bad is too bad?

Small setback, pulling on the bottom of the front side of the seat back I managed to tear the vinyl. I didn't tear a seam, I tore the vinyl. Right near the bottom, it wont show but I need to attach it down there.

Gluing and sewing it, I might still get it together tonight.
 
I guess I was lucky as I was able to recover a good amount of mine. Probably just due jto normal age things. Being rained into, getting water in it when washing it and so on. ALOT of them have rotted away over the years. I was fortunate mine has sat in a garage for most of it's life. Just saw your pics, man you are fast!! I'm still fiddling with mine and they have been out a lot longer. I like that combo with red piping,looks good...

I've got this list... (no - not a bucket list) of things I have to do before I can put gas in the car & drive it.
The list is still kind of long and includes things like bleed the clutch and brake lines.
I also need to finish the interior vinyl.
I've ordered a can of black vinyl dye and black cloth dye from Summit so I can dye the brown vinyl black and dye the blue seat belt webbing from my parts car to a nice black. Hopefully that stuff won't come off onto clothing.
I'd like to paint one of my bonnets red and put it on, and I need to replace the windscreen.

Should be able to knock all that out on our next sunny weekend right? :wink:
