What do you do with old, but look like new, 35 MM SLR cameras? It's a sin to trash them, but??? PJ :cryin:
 
Like other items that held meaning to us, it's hard to let go, isn't it? I have a Minolta SRT 102 in fantastic shape, along with several lenses to go with it. Bought it all brand new in '74 or thereabouts. https://www.kenrockwell.com/minolta/srt102.htm

I have a full frame 35mm Rollei MANUAL setting camera with Carl Zeiss lens that I love but it sits in my drawer next to my Contax 139.
I've taken hundreds and hundreds of fantastic photos with these cameras.
Anybody want to buy my TV antenna?
 
1. You can put them on CL for painfully small amounts of money...
2. Donate them to a young artsy photographer that wants to use film. They're still out there...

I might be interested depending on what you have and what you want.

I'm waiting for Yashica to make a digital back for my Contax. When the camera was in its heyday they had different backs to record time/date, etc on the film for scientific purposes. A nice digital back and I'll be set to go.
 
Don't suppose anyone has an old Olympus pen in need of a home? This the one that splits the negative into two pics. My son who does still use film occasionally, lost his tree planting a few years ago.
 
Just for nostalgic purposes........anybody have a Hexacon?
East German camera, imported by some firm in New York, mid to late 50's, re-badged "Hexacon", all sorts of odd lenses.
Mine had Brit lenses (and no F-stop bypass.....means F22 on a ski slope in the sun, you had to point over the top).
Second would be a Rollieflex.

I used both in High School.....and one of the first Minoltas with several lenses. SR-1? Can't remember.

Here's a pic of my Rollie 35mm. The lens retracts into the camera body when not in use making it very compact. It has light meter but speed and f-stop are manual.

My Dad left me a Nikkormat 35mm,that he bought new.
I can't part with it,as it's like a piece of artwork.

I can't even begin to list the gear I have. All reduced to 'eyewash' now. :mad:

Tho I will say there's a Leica IIIc in the pile... with a 35mm Leitz optic. <sigh>

As a matter of fact I think I do have an old Olympus Pen at home, but don't recall the exact model. It was a gift from my brother when he was in the Marines in the early 1970s and stationed on Okinawa. I remember it was a real pain in the butt to get prints. ISTR I had to get a photocell or something repaired once. I will look for it when I get a chance. I am going to visit my new grandson tonight and will be out of pocket until Monday night.
 
I still have my old Canon T-70 film camera. Still plan to use it some times as it did take great pictures and I have lots of lenses and filters for it!
