Oil Cooler Washer

Have one I never expected.
Have had an oil leak for quite a while that I could not determine the source of the leak.
Doing some exhaust work and other work on electrics I happened to notice that I was noticing a trail of oil leaking from around the adaptor into the engine block from the oil cooler (Moss #460-820). After disconnecting the oil line and pulling the adaptor I noticed a portion of the washer (Moss #324-800) was broken out. No big question as to what the problem probably is. Here's the problem. The washer is one of those collapsible type that costs a total of 55 cents! I'd have to order 19 of these plus $5.75 shipping in order to meet the minimum order Moss will accept. The question: Is there a standard washer I could use that would fit the bill? The diameter over the threads measures out to be .820 which, I guess, is a British thread. Any ideas? (it is a copper washer)

The ones you get in the lower gasket sets do not fit tight on the shaft but i think are snug over the threads. Send me a PM with your address and I will drop one in the mail. ( darn...I hope I have some around!) pretty sure I can locate one. Bob

It's big copper crush washer, so don't be shocked if the local auto parts doesn't have one, I get mine form the local hydraulic shop. As for minumum pushase, call Gordon at the B Hive, he sell you whatever you want, no minimum buy. Other alternative is aluminum crush washer, nylon, or fiber sealing washer.

Ditto on Hap's suggestion, hydraulic shops should have the washer you need. If there isn't a hydraulic shop nearby, then most shops that service tractors or farm implements or even a Cat dealer should have one.
