Oh, Santa...

oh.. a little something like this... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

actually somewhere I have a slide of a tr7 with a motor like that stuffed in it that I saw at the Chevy Show in DuQuoin IL in about 1987...

it looked like you could dump the clutch and the tourque would just flip it over.

You'd definately be the biggest baddest hot-rodder for miles around /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Increasing the displacement in the TR8 is pretty easy. Upping the stock 3.5 to a 3.9 can be done with new sleeves and new connecting rods. Easy engine swaps are the Rover 4.0 and 4.6 (like the ebay item). External dimensions are all identical. That particular engine would require a custom hood, notice how it's off in the photo. Those carbs and air cleaners stand far too tall. I have seen TR8's in England with 4 DCOE's instead, which offer zero hood clearance items. The TR8's in England that I spoke of are Rally clones and can push more than 400hp. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Also, the fuel injection systems that are used in the Range Rovers will fit in the TR8 as well, though you have to take out or modify the fresh air plenum.

Mickey,
You would definately need your collar to try and beat the tickets.

Wonder what happened to the TR8 it was attached to.

Bill

(Holy Moly, Mickey. Look at the number of posts I have made with this one. Woops. Sorry. And on Christmas, yet.)

Here's one of the quad DCOE engines I was talking about. It's in a TR7V8 Rallye Replica.

seriously....looks nice and someone did put alot of time and $$ into that.
For the $$ I'd try some other options....

try items 8023255238, 8024942324, 8023922148, or 8024098414 on that same site and get some REAL ponies. Nitrous can be fun, but having 400 Hp all the time is better.
I would have bought one of these had I thought of it- before building one from scratch.
...regardless of tranny also would need a new differential and driveshaft built
voooming....
