Do you wash these thoroughly in Petrol every 3,000 miles? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

John Deere lists it as a filter element - foam. I assume it is the foam prefilter which wraps around the metal/paper air filter. We usually wash them with soap and water and then blow them off with compressed air. Then depending on the application we emmerse in clean oil and wring out all the excess. For the 3 I would leave it dry if it is to be wrapped around the existing air filter. If you emmerse in oil it will remove more particulate but it will definitely change your intake fuel/air mixture .

This is an oiled -foam type filter that should let the old ac be useable for most driving(not on gravel??)I have not put any miles on this setup yet, but if cleaned and oiled when dirty it should be the ideal show & go air filter with no points off at concourse. It should NOT change the mixture unless very dirty.
