Is there a known supplier for O rings or flat gaskets that fit between the glass and chrome faces of instruments? I haven't found anything other than sizeable thin O rings. PJ

Paul - I've had luck with McMaster-Carr, when I can't find an o-ring or gauge seal that fits.

Paul, the o-ring gaskets found in the canister type oil filters work if you can't easily find "correct" ones. Cutting the oil filter gaskets with a razorblade to correct diameter and using "super glue" to reattach the ends. Used 'em for decades as such, set the seam to the bottom of the gauge if it's noticeable at all. Think: splicing recording tape or movie film. The joint is usually unnoticeable if you're careful.

And usually the gaskets are "free" in that there are a couple in each filter box. :D

Never needed to find out! I likely have a "lifetime supply" here!

Thanks fellas, I have about a dozen ? of those filter flat gaskets still in plastic bags never gave them a thought. Thanks again. (y)

The thinnest ones seem to work. The thicker ones can work as the OD gasket between dash and instrument bezel, BTW. Same cut-to-fit job.

Thanks Doc, much appreciated! (y)
