Re: NOS SU's on ebay - look a bit different to me.
Tony, It doesn't matter if we both ended up bidding on it that's the nature of auction, I was bidding on them purely as an investment, the auction will take it's natural course no matter who's bidding, bottom line neither one of were going to get them for under $100. Sometimes I see people I know bidding on something, If I want to bid, I bid, it's not personal, it's a auction. I used to spend a hour a day searching Ebay for stuff, now I've slacked off. I see people all the time trying to get stuff for nothing, it works out ever once in a while, but most of time popular items will bring thier worth. I used to bid on every 1275 crank that came up on Ebay, I'd just plug the most I was willing to pay, I lost quite a few of them but in a year, I manged to win about 12 1275 cranks and normally got them for far less than my max bid. In restropect on these carbs we were both trying to steal them and I would gladly gave $150 for them if I had pay more attention to the auction, I was still top bidder with under 10 minutes to go, but with nabber services (which I have used in the past)you can lose a auction in the final second. I used a nabber service to buy my almost new Skatblast bead blast cabinet off Ebay, I saved well over $400 ovr buying a new one, I bought a brand new Superflow flowbench off Ebay for $1800, which is about $900 under a new from Superflow, I bought the biggest part of Land and SEA dyno for $1000, that was a easy savings of $4000 for the components I got. There are plenty of deals on Ebay and it's a great place to sell as well, I sell more on Ebay than I do say on forums in the clasified or trader section, because I find often it brings more money and I'm not connected to the person in anyway, so I dont have make a deal so to speak. Tony don't worry about bidding on anything I bidding on, you bid away, it's fair game and if you ever win a auction over me, I will never get mad about it. I've been going to auctions since I was kid, heck I was raised at auto auctions, so who I'm bidding agisnt makes no difference to me if I know them or not, it's just a auction. In fact Tony here's would be my advice to you, change your Ebay screen name, so people don't know it's you or set up a different account just for buying, I found when my screen name was acmespeedshop, I got too many Midget racers bidding on something just because I was bidding, they would fiquire if I was bidding it must be a decent item, so I like the fact I can hide behind a screen name, and I changed my screen name several times to stay unknown, it's a smart stratagy for someone like you or I.
