No Oil Pressure Update
Have ordered a new pan gasket and a pre-lube pressurized kit. After removing the pan, it appears that there is a pathway that runs from the oil pump to the oil filter. I assume that if the filter is removed, I will be able to inject oil into the new oil pump by using an oil can to pump oil into the block via the filter galley. Is this a good assumption?
Will I be able to register pressure on the oil pressure gauge
by rotating the engine using the starter motor? I really do not want to start the engine without insuring that I have pressure.
New question: How in the he-- do you remove the large brass drain plug from the overdrive if you do not have a proper wrench? I wrapped the plug with duct tape and tried using a pipe wrench, it would not budge.
Will keep you informed as to the starting progress when the necessary parts arrive.
Thanks again for all of the outstanding advise, I really do appreciate your taking the time to respond to my questions.
