NGK plugs

- Initial auto parts store person didn't know how to look up what they had in stock, if they had NGK's, was completely dependent on computer system which didn't include AH's older than 62'. In the end , with manager's help, they didn't have the product.
- NGK BP5ES off the shelf at local Advanced Auto - Made in Japan. Counter person didn't need a computer when asked for specific plug and came back 30 sec later with product.
 
Okay, I'm confused about NGK plugs. I've run BP6ES for years with no problem. I ordered NGK BPR6ES on line thinking they were the same. (R for resister) again no problem. MarkP mentioned BP6ES in his post. What is the difference? What should I be using.
By the way, the BPR6ES box says assembled in Thailand.
What gives?
 
I use BP5ES's which are a little hotter. I'm at 6300' altitude. BP6ES's are a little cooler. Resistor plugs help reduce EMI / radio noise.
