New steering wheel

I replaced the old worn steering wheel in my Miata with a new Momo wheel. It's enough smaller than the old one that my knees don't hit is as badly when I depress the clutch or brake. It's also thicker and much more ergonomic feeling.

The only downside was that the horn didn't work because Mazda used a funky connector for both the air bag and horn that was sealed. There was no good way to connect it to the hub of the new wheel. So I cut it out then made a new connector out of two layers of coffee can. Now I have a nice wheel and a working horn.

I also pulled out the airbag light so I don't have to look at it flashing.

Walter, are you saying that now every time you hit the horn button, you get a fresh cup of coffee? :jester:

That is a sharp-looking wheel! (y)

Paul, thank you, I rather like it. It also feels great when driving, it has good grip and in fills the hands nicely.

I would even be happy if it just smelled like fresh coffee when I honked the horn. :bananawave:
