former MGB owner I have owned 2 during my life sold my decent body one about 5 years ago some guy made me an offer I couldnt refuse.
I have my old 72 MGB with the wire wheel & OD trans & rebuilt .020 bored, mild cammed, ported head & intakes, that I used to run octane booster to help with the high compression milled head & high compression pistons.. car has been parked for over 10 years needing floors, door skins, mastercylinder, top, & bad bearing in rear & I have just started looking for a better body to put at least my engine in & I found this site & it looked good.

missing the whole MGB scene.. looked at a few midgets recently. even was told about a possibly free frog eye at a farm 70 miles away.. awaiting to hear about on that..

there is a small shop around here that has lots of triumphs. & renaults & even fiats as well as the old honda 600s but no MGBs

I am located in Virginia & just trying to see what is available

yes I prefer old school type of bikes.. I have rode close to 25 years on Harleys & wont ride anything made after 1984 shovelhead. that is when Harley turned their backs on the real bikers, with the introduction of the evolution.

I have seen 1 awesome late model bike at a club rally. a custom with a TC88 engine, jockey shift 4 speed, open 3 inch primary, kick start only in a rigid frame with 25 inch ape hangers on 5 inch risers...

I sold my 1946 knuck a few years back. I still have a 1961 panhead, a 1973 superglide motor currently apart, 1942 flathead, & a basket case shovelhead project mostly there..

the bug eye. I still have my fingers crossed.. I was at apple orchard somewhere in the mountains between Mayberry.. Andy Griffth home town.. MT Airy, & Fancy Gap.. guy was asking if anyone was interested it belonged to a friend sitting in a shed 20+ years & guy was going to give it to a junkyard & he would rather see someone get it to fix..

I gave my number & was told he would visit his friend in next few weeks. I also told him I would pay some money if needed..

there are so many back dirt roads & hollars round them parts a person can get lost.. I have even tried to do google earth as well as 1 other & so many roads you cant find because of the trecherous terain & mountains & single lane dirt roads.. 1 guy I know in them parts electricity has only been available for 5 years.. & he still uses his solar for most of his electric needs but is glad to not have to watch all of his useage anymore as he has automatic switching..

as for me I am also into VWs the old Aircooled stuff I have a few bugs. used to be into Datsuns 510s, presently I have commited to buy a V8 conversion kit for a Pontiac 6000 to drop a small block into a front wheel drive so my wife can have a decent fun car that is automatic maybe even show up a few kids.. she still cant get the hang of stickshifts & 99% of all my cars have been stickshift. the pontiac is now a 4th generation.. my grandma bought it new then grandpa inherited it then my mother, then me & I raged it out & parked it but still has great body.

I used to be into muscle cars.. I have most of what I grew up with got a couple 64 impalas, 3 Novas, thunderbird, couple hot rodded international harvesters, I was into the plymouth Neon scene once but the reliablilty did me in.. still have a wrecked 95 & a parked 96 that would run with a battery. plus several engines & trannys, all said I think somewhere around 50 automobiles & I am 40 years old..

between 3 homes 2 in mountains & 1 city place. but still classified as county but different county from my other 2 homes.. think I have 4 vehicles at city location.. with both of these homes about equal..

no I am not rich to have 3 homes just a fluke.. I bought a mountain home.. then inherited my parents home when they died.. then got the third when I married as it was her place & her parents before & grandparents & now trying to reclaim the land & doing small scale farming. have 2 tractors & clearing place as I have time..

as for my car collection.. I just held onto alot of what I have owned. probably only sold close to 30, some only were bought to resell for profit some were bought for parts to keep up a few. specifically I have 3 parts VW busses & 5 decent VW busses.. 2 Datsun 510s 1 to keep the other maintained.

may try to get some pics what exactly do you want to see? Chevys? plymouths? Dodges? Fords? Imports? Jap? German? only 1 MG curently junked, only 1 Freightliner. was planning to drive & traded a junker Harley for but never did learn how. 2 internationals Harvester scouts 1 half top 1 full top.

yes I do. & no end in sight...

I have commited to a V8 conversion kit for a 80's style front wheel drive GM car probably my Pontiac 6000 will be converted. unless the guy talks me into buying his citation X11 that is/was his guenie pig for the V8 conversion. that way wife can play with the younguns in the late model cars..

she has also told me to be on the lookout for a corvair station wagon & do a big bore conversion where you put VW type 4 cylinders on the corvair engine to turn a 2700cc into a 3500cc

also she found a Celebrity Eurosport she is interested in so may wind up with that soon as another kick around junker...

but I need to find a inexpensive MGB.. lol
