OUCH - this is horribly long. Sorry all.
Background:
1968 GT6 MK I - born on 26 February 1968.
Original Canadian Car - sold at Leyland Motor Sales in Toronto
I am the 5th owner I believe. First 3 in Ontario and then car moved west in 03 or 05.
I purchased it in September 2009 at a classic car auction in Red Deer, Alberta.
I am in southeastern Alberta and wouldn't mind getting together with Saskatchewan, ND or MT Triumph owners.
From what I can tell, the car is mostly all original, with the odd minor exception (fuel pump, some interior bits, paint job, etc.).
It is my fun car and I get way more satisfaction from driving it than my 97 Mercedes SL320.
At this point I have no restoration plans (although it would be cool to have it all brand new for its 50th birthday in 2018). Mainly trying to keep it original and drive it as much as I can.
In keeping with originality I am in the process of trying to aquire some odd bits and pieces as follows:
- bonnet letter kit (with studs and fasteners)
- L671 rear red lense
- brake cylinder tin cap
- fuel pump
- fuse box cover
Only want NOS or recycled / used bits in order to maintain some semblance of originality. New / Repro parts have their place, but not for everything.
Now some photos.
