I'm still waffling on which route I want to follow.
 
I still want Ed's other one, if it's baffled as I think it's shorter and will fit better. I'll pay shipping for both of course, and I'll send out the one I don't use for the good of order too of course. I should go work on my brakes though, eh?

Trev, do you have a resonator up front? If you want low impedence w/out it getting too loud, I think that's key... even if it's just a glass pack or something similar.
 
I do not have much ground clearance, so I'm pretty limited.

I didn't weld as I was not sure this was the ultimate solution I was looking for. I'd been thinking about a Chrome dual exhaust tip with a built in resonator < $40 from Advance Auto. That one also would require adapters. After thinkingabout it that may be physically too wide to fit with my BE Overriders on the back of Bugsy. Looks like it would rub against the botttom of the overrider.

From Ed's description, the Harley Muffler with Baffles in place is fairly quiet or at least quieter than a straight pipe or a glasspack. I think that just may be the ticket. I've got a Harley Muffler on the way from Ed as we speak. I've got an identical one here that I believe may have had the baffles "altered" but I can't really tell until I compare to a new unmolested one. Again I was going to send to jvandyke in MI. I want to test the Harley Muffler with the cut/slanted tip and baffles to see if it is significanly quieter than the one I've got on Bugsy now that is minus the baffles, essentially a straight pipe. I'll have something available by the end of the weekend.
 
I think I'm going to get a "turbo" style muffler. I called Walker and they have a muffler under their Dynomax line that is pretty small and they assure me that it flows great but is significantly quieter than a straight through glasspack.

Thanks, but I decided to go with the Walker muffler.
 
Here's a photo of mine I just put on today. I won't be able to test it until I get he exhaust flange gasket on Tuesday.

Looks great. That one looks new. And I'll bet complete with baffles. I think the tapered tip bullet shaped is the way to go vs. the large, 4" slanyted / cut tip style. Looks more in period with the car. That's the one I've got mounted on Bugsy my '68 Sprite.
