Need help installing steering idler oil seal - RESOLVED

How do I install the oil seal at the bottom of the steering idler on a BJ8. There is a metal lip that prevents the seal from being removed from the bottom. Is this lip a part of some sort of cup that is pressed into the idler body? Thanks

I have an older idler laying around as a spare
It has the metal lip, and it looks as if that is part of the seal
The idler on my car has a plastic ring over the seal

You need one of these pullers ....

Big Green, did you install the zerk fitting in the body of the idler? Mine doesn't have one, just the square headed plug in the cap to refill the oil. Do you use chassis grease instead of oil?

Thanks everyone. It's all back together and about to go back on. Everything is nice and solid.

Cheers all!
