Hi All,
Well, I wish I could follow CarNut’s advice and not focus onwhat ain’t broke but what do you do when you’re not sure?
Sunday afternoon I took my BJ8-P1 for 2 hours drive and onthe way home the left directional dash indicator seemed to follow a differentbeat. When activated, the leftdirectional indicator blinked brightly for of a couple of times, then seemed tobe normal and as expected followed by a few weak blinks and then missed a beat. This cycle continues to repeat withregularity, however, external front, rear, and converted reflector lightsperformed bright and with appropriate regularity. Switching to the right directional, the dashdirectional replicated the left, yet again, the outside lights performedproperly.
The BJ8-P1 wiring is similar to the BJ7 and differs fromsome prior 3000s and 100/6s by having 2 dash directional indicators. Since each dash directional lights withoutleaking through and faintly illuminating the opposite dash light, I expect the groundconnections associated with each are connected. Additionally, since part of the flashing cycle provides bright dashlight illumination seems to show that power is getting to the dash lights. Also, since the external lights flashbrightly and, with regularity, it seems to indicate that the Flasher andFlasher Relay seem to be functioning properly.
Before I go through the **** of taking things apart and since this is the first indication of a POSSIBLE component or connection failure, I wouldappreciate any direction and/or suggestions.
Thank for your help,
Ray(64BJ8P1)
