So I am looking at a car in another state. It is a 5 hr drive from here and I have a question or two.
The vehicle has 9K on the odometer, a clean carfax and looks to be clean.
It is a 1 owner car.
It has been on the lot since Apr/May and has me baffled as why it is still there.
Is there something I am missing?

Is it possible to contact the previous owner from the car fax?

Been trying to figure out how to do that.
Was wondering if I googled the VIN but that didn't work

Ask the dealer for the info. If there's nothing to hide he should give you the info.

Do you think he would give me the info 2 days before I plan on seeing it?

Oh, I thought this was going to be about cooking......(it has a delightful and light, lemony flavor).

Careful, or ~Basil~ will put you in thyme out!

Curryup and ask the dealer for the info don. There's nothing to lose; if there's pressure due to time being put on you then run away!

and obviously if you get a chili reception or if it doesn't cut the mustard..... run!

If it's really in good shape don can just drive the caraway.

Don, make sure to call and not email. Reaction to a question will tell you more than the answer will. It saved me from two long trips that I would have otherwise made from just email correspondence.

PM me a link to said "deal" and the carfax. I'm not gonna call, I just want to see if I can spot why it hasn't sold yet. Sometimes it just happens, sometimes it for a reason. The longer a car is in inventory the less likely salesmen will try to sell the car. They do have a "shelf life" and seller perception of it can become stale after a while. It happens to everyone including myself.

~90 days is the magic blow out price time.

Well, I PM'd the info to Billy and 20 minutes later it was sold....hmmmm :congratulatory:
So off to Charlotte tomorrow for another car.
Giving Billy time to get this one too. :encouragement:

I was in Charlotte on Tuesday night...

LOL, man I wish I found something by now! Still running around myself, found three I'm interested in. I thought a had a sure thing but the "facts" didn't make sense.

One thing for sure, lots'a junk out there. I was just telling Kelly I can spot a pile of crap a mile away..I should know...I've owned enough of 'em...

Don, lemme know if there is something this way you want me to look for.

Got up early, well kinda early, and made the drive up to Charlotte Sat. morning.3 1/2 hours.I had the van detailed inside and it looks great.
The dealership knew I was coming and had the car ready for inspection with my name on a tag hanging from the mirror. after viewing and driving and haggling we walked out after being disgusted with the 1K offer for our trade in. They told us you should sell it out right as it was worth 4-5 times what they could offer.
They even offered to flat bed it back to the house so we could only drive one home which I thought was interesting as it would be close to a 500 mile round trip for that and would cost quite a bit of money to do.
We went and had lunch as we were starving , they offered up food (popcorn), discussed what to do as we had driven all that way.
Went back to the dealer asked if they were serious about the flat bed and they said yes.
Managed to get an additional 5bills off the price and 3 hours later we left we a new to us,but slightly used, Honda Odyssey.
I am now an official Soccer Mom.
Left there and then spent 2 hours in IKEA.
arrived back home at 1AM. 17 hours after we left

What state? Might have someone on forum look for you.

Congrats Don, sounds like you traded up in reliability. It's always a game at the dealership. Lowering the price of the "for sale" car, they'll offer less for a trade-in so their profit doesn't really change. Strange that they gave you a bargaining tool with the cost of the flatbed. Good that took them up on it.

Still have the Safari
well, sort of, it probably will show up Wed
Going to list it to Craiglist tomorrow
The Odyssey is a 013 with 17K
