That looks like a picture of a used car lot from 1969!

If it's the original engine, it's a 948cc Standard-Triumph engine, the same engine that evolved eventually to the 1493cc Spitfire 1500 engine as well as the six-cylinder versions up to and including TR6.

Looks like it was once enjoyed by a somewhat knowledgeable enthusiast...smart enough to know that he/she could bolt on the wire wheel hubs from a Spitfire!

Well I do have a place to park it, and family would be OK with it, but there is the slight issue of one or two outstanding projects.

Buy it. Consider which of the "projects" is the closest to complete (running and not an eyesore), park whatever projects, even if newly acquired, until the closest is completed. Complete said project and then repeat steps.

I know its hard not to equally love all your children (cars). But would you rather have 5 eyesores with potential for greatness, or 4 with one decent one?

Ah, now I see the eBay auction listing!

Looks like a MkIV Spitfire 1300 engine, albeit with the original 10's valve cover (or possibly an early Herald valve cover, since many 10s had oil fillers in the center of the valve cover) and thermostat elbow.

...and swap in a later engine, etc., etc.! Cosmetically, the car looks pretty rough, but I'll wager that the unibody is pretty solid. Could be a neat project. IF only I were in CA, had any spare cash, didn't already have 12 Triumph-related projects....
