Nardi Steering Wheel - ITS HERE

Re: Nardi Steering Wheel / Buyers Remorse ??

The wheel shipped from Japan yesterday. Tracking indicates its in customs...hope to have it this time next week. I'll post more pics then.

I appreciate the reassuarances from everyone...Ebay is a roll of the dice sometimes, especially when the item is in Japan.

Re: Nardi Steering Wheel / Buyers Remorse ??

Last year I purchased one of these wheels from Japan without a hub as well. After a very long search I ended up contacting Nardi and they put me in touch with their ex-US distributor. He was able to track down the last shipments of that hub and turned me on to a shop that actually had two of them left on the shelf. I'm sorry, but I have searched and could not find the info but I can confirm someone in the US had a couple last year. This is a very specific hub but undoubtedly one of the best looking wood wheels ever produced.

I ended up trading a guy for a new Leather Moto Lita wheel with a hub for my project.

Good luck in your search.

You might also contact this site. They have a lot of Nardi parts: https://stores.ebay.com/Tires-N-Parts-Inc...7QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I have recently bought an older Nardi steering wheel on Ebay. Mine was missing the plunger that makes contact between the horn button and the brass ring. Does anyone know of a source for one? I have beadblasted the hub to have it powdercoated, here's a picture:

Re: Nardi Steering Wheel / Buyers Remorse ??

Hehe, you guys are going to hate me for this one. A buddy of mine and I were out junkyarding a couple weeks ago and came across a Nardi in a VW Cabrio. Paid $5 for it with the hub. He didn't want the wood wheel, "cause I already have one and it wouldn't look right in any of my cars..." He kept the hub, I took the wheel. I'm kinda in the same boat with finding a hub. I figures worst case I'd have one of my friends modify a hub to fit. A wood wheel for the JPS! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Here it is!! Looks even better in person than the Ebay listing. These pics of mine or low quality (cell phone). I'll get some better pics soon. I would have to reccomend this guy if anyone is considering a Nardi. He has a beautiful leather wheel on there now that looks like the original TR6 wheel but higher grade.

Re: Nardi Steering Wheel / Buyers Remorse ??

finally got around to ordering the hub adaptor to fit this wheel to my TR6. Looks like its all going to fit and look great. One question, in the Ebay listing for the hub I got it showed a brass(?)ring that appears to go between the hub adaptor and the steering wheel but it wasn't in the box. I don't think that I need it since the horn button itself grounds to the hub which grounds to the steering column etc etc so I think connecting the horn wire to teh button is all that is needed to make teh horn functional. Does that sound right? One wire connected to the lead inside the horn button itself?

Re: Nardi Steering Wheel / Buyers Remorse ??

On my car, the brass ring was already in the steering column for the existing steering wheel. I needed the plunger that makes contact between the horn button and the brass ring. I bought a Grant steering adapter kit for a Chevy truck from Summit for about $20. I used the plunger, and modified the metal hold down to fit inside my adapter. I had to drill out the hole slightly for the plunger to fit. Works great.
