I like all Healeys, big and small, but I think that the 100 is the purest expression of the marque. It's the car designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, just the way wanted it, undiluted by design committees and corporate requirements and limitations.
Don't stop searching. Opportunities do occasionally materialize.

Are you talking about a 100-4, 100-M or a 100-6? 100-S I assume will be way out of what most can afford.
Here is a 100-4 very cheap but it will cost a fortune to get running and looking decent again.

If you are able to find one that seems inexpensive, make sure you look closely. It may run ok (engine/tranny) and stop ok (brakes), but it also might be full of RUST. Rust can be very expensive to fix, especially if it is in the frame. Join a local Healey club first before buying. You will meet knowledgable enthusiasts who will be helpful. They might even know of Healey for sale that would fit the bill. You can also buy an Austin Healey Sprite much cheaper than a big Healey. They might not have the pure classic look of the Big Healey, but they can be fun too.
