3M makes a "sand blaster" disc for 4" grinders that works very well for removing paint without removing metal or getting things too hot. I use them to clean up the metal after using chemical stippers. I prefer to just media blast things though.
I used 3M 100 grit on the whole thing, It took a couple of days. Media blasting quotes ranged from 650 to 850. So I spent 45 bucks on wheels and paper and rolled up my sleeves, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I use my father's equipment. It is done outdoors in a field. Always try to find a cool dry day to do the work. Most of my Midget I stripped using chemicals and discs, except the engine bay, underside, and interior. I sand blasted those.
