The rear is definely Solstice/Skye. The front reminds me of Cadillacs. Either way, this looks very GM to me. I don't get alot of styling cues from earlier TR's, which is OK. If BMW wants to stay true to the marque, then rugged low cost performance, simply made, should be the goal. Forget all of the wiz-bang electronics that BMW loves. Keep It Simple Stupid. (KISS principle)
I think it should be positioned head to head with the Miata/MX-5, not a premium brand. Triumphs were always at the lower end of the price scale. They gave alot of performance for the buck, but they were always very affordable.
