I've never understood the whole thing. There's a lid on the toilet for a reason. We walk in and out of doors all the time, but we don't leave them open because we might want to walk through it again in a few hours.

I'm lost, Scott....I rarely ever close doors around my place - except when I leave the property, at night, or when I go to the bathroom....otherwise, all my doors stay open if the AC or heat isn't running.

If your home has teenage boys......UP! They do not know, or care, if the seat is raised or lowered, they just aim (after a fashion) and let go. So, which is worse, lowering the seat, or having to clean it before you can use it?

I always pee in the morning in the back yard, that way I mark my territory.


Have you ever been in a men's room where there are ten urinals in a row, you are the only one using it and some dude walks in to pee and goes directly to a toilet to do his business. What kind of husband must these rubes be?


And lastly, I am thinking of installing a urinal in my workshop.

I don't think your analogy works too well: I always leave all the doors inside my house open, most people I know do too; unless there's a specific reason for closing off a room. The outside doors stay shut to keep uninvited guests and the weather out.

I habitually leave the seat and lid down, but I can't see the problem if I did not.


Besides... dribble on the seat a few times and the complainants will soon start asking for the seat to be raised.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
