Monza Performance Muffler

I got one sent to me. Turns out it's the bigger one. 29"+ and 4" diameter. It's one big mutha. It has baffles in it. May as well try it out if I can find adapters to reduce it down enough. I don't know though, it may not fit behind at all. Time to head out to the garage and play.

Harley was the same length as my Monza, so it should fit alright but I had trouble coming up with the reducer to get the 1 1/2" pipe to mate to the Harley's 1 3/4". In the end I shortened and raised the Monza, so it looks MUCH better, doesn't scrape and now I think I'll run it soooooo, anyone want a Harley pipe for shipping cost only? I do think it looks alright, probably sounds alright (I REALLY want to test it), chrome is decent (not perfect but very decent) it has baffles in there, can't guarantee they haven't been modified by some PO but you can see plates and holes down in there. Anyway, I'll put it up for dibs, if no takers I'll probably fit it as some point just because I'm dying to hear it!
Here's the harley pipe mocked up and comparison

Yep, well traveled. I'll try to get the proper reducer if no one wants this anytime soon. No one near me had stuff for a 1 1/2"pipe, that's very tiny. A shop by me said if I brought in a piece of 1 1/2 he could stretch one end to fit over the existing 1 1/2 and the other he could stretch to fit inside the 1 3/4" maybe with a small angle thrown it to point it up as it heads back. But then I'd have to shorten the existing pipe some more, making it too short for the Monza, then if I didn't like the harley muffler, I'd have to replace the now too short pipe and well, it's time to drive. But I'm really curious as to how it would sound. You can see a very small (1/8") circle of daylight if you look straight through the harley pipe, not sure if that is as Harley made it or not. It's big but somehow looks pretty good on the back of the car. I also have a bit of concern if it would bump against the gas tank.
Here's another shot of where I think the harley pipe would/should end up.

Here is an idea, buy a 1 1/2" ID x 1 3/4" OD bronze sleeve:
Ebay Bronze Sleeve

Then braze it together if you like the looks. Since you can braze dissimilar metals it would hold nicely.

You could also have one milled that was 1 1/2" ID x 1 3/4" OD x 2" L out of steel locally and then weld it in place on the pipe and the clamp the muffle onto it.

Just ideas

That's exasctly what I did to get the 21" Harley Muffler to fit on Bugsy. I'd recommend tack welding the adapter/reducers together. I used U bolts but things got loose rather quickly. Tack welded and really torqued the U bolts and all is now solid and sounds sweet!

Oooooo lets make a dual exhaust

:iagree: LOL

Ask PO of those mufflers to see if they are 21" long vs. the 29" that is the big fat 4" one. The 21" fits much better, p;us tip is tapered and works better if you are using BE overriders as read bumpers.

You can probably find a set of these for less than that if you go and chat up the service guy at the local Harley Dealer.
