MK2 Sprite - new windscreen to body seal - trouble

Very unlikely with the first one, and the second one I pulled off my MK1 Midget.
They are identical, down to the patent numbers on them.
I'm confident I've got the right windshield frames.
 
AH Spares responded and though they had no idea why it would not fit they assumed they made a mistake and offered to send out a replacement.
