I think this is too much for this type of project...should be more like $500. I feel bad for the guy.

I don't feel sorry for him, I think he should not have been allowed to buy so many tools!

I once ran a machine shop for a company that restored equipment. They had a little Clark forklift and were thinking of selling it. I asked what they wanted and was told $300. I told them I would buy it. So they got to thinking if it had value why should I have it. I was asked what I would do with it and said I would rebuild it. Well, after all, I did work for them so it made sense that if I could do it for myself that I could do it for them. I was told to take it apart and rebuild it.

The thing is that they did not know I was planning on leaving for another job. When I did leave every piece of that forklift was scattered across the floor.

yup.

for me, it started with us selling our house at the peak of the market to build a new house, moved into a rental temporarily, got robbed, moved in with family temporarily, found another rental (better neighborhood) for the time being until we get the house done.....

moral of the story....some times the best laid plans......
