I think there are pros and cons. I paid a premium (including taking a loan) for an original car with relatively low miles, but I wouldn't do that for someone’s rebuild. I could drive the car right away and enjoy it without any down time.
I’d be more likely to consider taking a loan for a professional restoration. The 100 M, or the 100 LeMans, is kind of a specialty, so I’d pay a real premium, and I really don’t want to do that. So maybe, when the first loan is paid, I’ll look for a quality 100 and then undertake the modifications to the ‘LeMans’ spec.
Since this is still the C-GT thread, I’d like to say, I drove a ‘B’ or a ‘B-GT’ all through high school, I always wanted a ‘C’ and was fascinated by them, but never actually saw one. I still haven’t seen one, only photos, so I’m not sure if they really exist or not! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif I would ALMOST just as quickly buy one, either a roadster, or a GT, as I would a 100-4. I think all things considered, it will be the next acquisition after the 100, unless, of course, I actually see one and it’s for sale.
