How many real 100-M cars were made?.....What are they going for price wise?

What is a 100-S?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif OK I’m definitely hijacking the thread now, but you asked:

As far as I can remember from reading, the factory records for 100 M’s are not considered accurate, and I’m no expert, lot’s of people on the AH side might know better: about 600 100-M’s were made at the factory and a few hundred more 100-4’s had the Le Mans kit installed by dealers upon delivery to the States.

See eBay for 100-M with ‘Le Mans’ modifications: https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/55-Austin...1QQcmdZViewItem This appears to be a 100-4 that’s been restored and upgraded by the restorer to the Le Mans spec. The paint job isn’t exactly right, as far as I can tell, there should be a line of blue paint that continues from the upper body down behind the front wheel. If this isn’t exactly right, it makes you wonder what else hasn’t been done the factory way.

There’s also a 100–M factory car that’s in need of a restoration being offered, fully restored for about $95,000: https://www.dreamsonwheels.com/ (scroll down – no photo) I don’t know that they’ll get that, but they’re asking.

The 100-s was a 100-4, of the BN-1 model (the very first) that was heavily modified by the factory for racing, or for customers in the know. It has an aluminum body and other modifications, including, I believe, 4 wheel disc brakes and an alloy head. Most agree only 55 were made, including 5 prototypes. Only about 30 are accounted for. A recent 100-S clone was offered on eBay from a BCF member from Australia, I believe it sold for about $30,000.

A just posted project BN-2 on eBay is already at $7,800 with 8 days left on the auction: https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Austin-He...1QQcmdZViewItem

These cars have a knowledgeable and passionate following. Cars with documented history usually have considerably more value. Lot’s of the people involved in their creation and racing were well known experts of their day.

Todays the day...its the day I start driving my CGT again. Re-insured it yesterday and today I make the trek to MVD to re-register it.My sister(has a 70Midget) has already asked to borrow it. I offered her my 911 or my 90 Corvette...she declined...can't reach the pedals..5 ft...2 inches. Her Midget is perfect.

So, are you scheduling rides for all of us - like the pony rides when we were kids?

Bet you end up selling the 911 or Corvette when you jump back in the C.

I always wanted a ‘C’ and was fascinated by them, but never actually saw one. I still haven’t seen one, only photos, so I’m not sure if they really exist or not! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

No, Kenny, they are entirely mythical...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Had a guy come look at the Corvette today...then he asked about the C parked in front of my shop. Gotta hide the blasted thing so I can unload some of this other iron...make that fiberglass.:> I had the urge to race a rice racer today but ignored himas he sat there revving his rice cooker, sounded like it was coming apart...the C just sat there and rumbled.

I will ~never~ understand the desire to drive a car that sounds like a cross between a bunch of BB's being swirled around in an empty coffee can and a whoopee-cushion. Never.

A pox on all thier NOX bottles. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Always neat to be above it all with a killer in hand with all the right rumbles and lopes.

Doc - that's usually all there is! Just the muffler. And have you ever watched one of those weirdly painted things when the owner opens the door - seems they never jamb one of them!
