Kinda new, posted a while back about my CGT I was fixing. Have owned it 20 years, have put on under 25k miles..has 86k original. Was getting it ready for a car show in Las Cruces NM..missed by a couple of days. Rolled out of my paint shop Sat. afternoon, original Snowberry White, new interior etc. To lessen the hurt of missing the show, I picked up a 69 C roadster on Friday. Will be a nice addition to my numerous other Bs and BGTs. [image]https://[/image]

AWRIGHT!! Another MGC-ophile completes the set!

OK...I gotta ask...WHERE does one just "pick up a 69 C roadster" ??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

like any other MG, they show up when you least expect it, in the strangest of places

I've owned my '68 C roadster for many years & had almost given up hopes of finding a C GT...one day out of the blue as friend called & told me about an automatic transmission C GT he knew of that had been sitting in a basement garage since 1982 - its now mine.

They're out there, but usually hidden!

My attorney had owned the C roadster for years...his adult son damaged the sheetmetal on the nose(fenders, hood..**** it..attaching parts etc) Has been stored and his plan was to re-do it. He just found out he has a terminal illness...so I inherited the roadster. I'm taking him crusing in the GT later in the week and giving him the plan for the roadster. I also have a 90 Corvette and two Porsche 911s...so room at my garage is getting scarce for customers cars. I may sell a couple of my MGs.

Everyone is now peaking my interests about C's & CGT's.

There's one in Greenville, S.C. collecting dust. Engine runs, dash cracked, OD doesn't work all the time, brake boosters work (who knows how much longer), paint is good, seats and floors good, sills good. Owner is letting it rot, won't get serious about it.

The one is Greenville - is he looking to sell?

The problem is finding one for sale that doesn't need work. All the restored cars live in happy homes and never get sold!

Do you have Pics of the one in Greenville?

Well, who can blame the owners? I mean, would you sell yours if you owned one? I certianly wouldn't /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There's no need to resist... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif there's a slightly older LBC that has an awesome 6 cylinder engine with a 4-speed OD tranny, granted the body lines are differnt, but it will always produce a LBC grin /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif IMHO.

There's plenty still available, you just have to avoid sellers with "Barrett-Jackson fever" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif I am refering of course to the venerable AH 100-6 and the popular 3000. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Sorry. I probably shouldn't have mentioned the one in Greenville.
I've got that one staked out, waiting on the owner to quit dithering.

And just why would anyone want a AH 100-6 or the popular 3000 when they could have a 100/4. Drool, windshield down of course.
