Ron - there are some cars a person can do anything they want with - & others need to remain completely stock!
This one is one that's readily available so can be 'played with'...it started its 2nd life as a '79 MGB that a friend restored......and shortly afterwards he allowed his wife to drive it!
She proceeded to ram it under a truck. I came home from a weekend trip, and found it sitting in my drive with a note telling me to bring him a check. I did! After a new front fender, rubber bumper and hood with a complete body respray by the students at the local high school body shop, it replaced "my baby" as a daily driver for 6 years. First, however, I had to remove its air conditioning. Then, I had to systematically make it run right which meant dual HIF-4's & a Peco header into a straight exhaust w/"cherry bomb" mufflers....then, after driving it a few years, I was getting ready to take it to the New Orleans car show when the oil pressure dropped to 20psi at speed & almost 0 at idle....pulling a rod cap, I found worn bearings; so, I decided to V8 it....
...things have just gone from there!
