so I was at Borders trying to beat the heat on my lunch hour yesterday.

and I'm looking through the auto books and came across this gem:

"Crap Cars"

It's by one of our buddies from "Top Gear" isting their opinion of the top 100 worst cars ever.

#14 - the MGB .... Not RB MGB's but all MGBs

That car came out back when our newspaper had its own auto reviewer in the form of the smart and talented Buddy Houts. Buddy went into the Yugo review thinking the worst, and came out praising the car, especially value for money. The model he tested was equipped with a/c, and he said it would freeze him out even on a hot day. Seems like a few lemons spoiled the whole thing for that car.
 
somebody must like-em... there's a guy up in Portland with a huge junkyard devoted entirely to Yugos and is the "Tony Barnhill" of Yugos selling used parts all over the country.

There's a guy over in Woodville, AL who must have 30 sitting under a clump of pine trees....
 
I've read through that book at the store, too! Its crap, there's actually quite a few cars in there that are in fact good cars. There's also not very much historical context either. Its actually a crap book, really. He disses on Mercedes Diesels and Peugots, and Fiat. Oh well, screw him. He was probably the guy on the show that thought the Chrysler Crossfire convertible was way cool.
 
With intellegent folks like that it is no wonder MG was sold overseas and died.
 
Hay, I saw my first Chrysler Crossfire convertible the other day, the one with the retractable spoiler in the rear?

Yep yep was cool, but not to my taste at all.
 
Not a bad looking car though, but it is a Chyrsler.

Yep, that's it, not really bad at all. Bet it is overpriced though. Might be fun to test drive one as Miss Agatha is not up to the task as yet. Gesh and it has been six months.
 
Base model Crossfire roadster is $36,000 and the top of the line SRT6 is over $50,000 - yep way overpriced.
 
There's a guy in western Indiana who collects Yugos....and Spitfires/GT6's
