McDonalds Prices!

The wife just read that a combo of Hamburger, Fries, and a small drink at Mcdonald's are $16.00 plus tax! Doesn't affect me, as we don't patronize the place, but how will folks with a few kids afford prices like that? That's insane! o_O

Seen the cost for getting into Disney World lately?

And then there's eggs! 😲

I heard that a dozen eggs are over $7.00 a dozen in
California now.

Some are over $5/dozen here. Being part weasel, I eat a lot of eggs. Not sure how long a couple chickens would last...

I am torqued about inflation, but I fault large corporations for obvious gouging. I understand passing on cost increases, but when your profit percentages get to 3, 4, or 5 times what they were, you are gouging. I do not mind paying the added cost of paying labor 15.00 per hour.

Paul - where are McDonalds prices so high? Even here in overpriced Connecticut, a Big Mac with medium fries and a soda are $6.95. $8.95 down near NYC. $16? yikes!

Who still goes out to eat? Just walk past a restaurant and dream.

(I agree with Bob about the profits from the companies that say their costs are escalating. They're escalating alright, but not nearly as much as the prices they're charging us. The Walmart "Good Housekeeping" paper towel rack that cost me $6.95 last year is now $16.95. Oh, c'mon.)

She saw it on the local news Tom, 3 or 4 days ago. I have no idea where this was supposed to take place. PJ

Mike - thanks for the link. In the guys' TikTok post, he admits choosing one of the most expensive combinations, so he could "make a good video".

Seems a lot of the 'net is used mostly for getting personal attention, comments, and "likes". Nothing new there.

Thanks John. The McDonalds is in Idaho - and maybe the franchises can set their own prices.

Anyway, prices of everything but gas are going up. Hope we don't return to the Stagflation and "generic foods" of the 1970s and early 1980s.

I remember those days all too well.

On the plus side - it's good if you're selling a vehicle
right now (& not buying another one).

Nothing wrong with returning to lower cost generic labeled foods to help stave-off inflation woes. Our favorite was a large can labeled "Chicken" but we called it "Beaks and Feets" Our mother made a tasty chicken casserole from this.

Except for the small sizes shown, those look like the cases of food be brought aboard the boat.
