McCartney drove by my house

My wife and I were once at a Restaurant in Santa Fe and Liza Minelli was at the next table.

Cabaret is one of my favourite movies. Too bad old Liza's life seems to have gone astray.

Mitch Ryder stepped on my foot in the elevator of the Ben Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia when I was in 10th grade. I have finally recovered.

Elvis Presley once hunted on the farm where my house is now located.

Probably hunting for elusive peanut butter and banana sandwich (which I hear is now on the endangered species list due to the peanut allergies being reported in children)!

I once drove across the Ben Franklin bridge in Philadelphia.

d  :yesnod: :driving:

My dad and I met Heather Locklear in Aspen once.

I knew Jenna Fischer of "The Office" fame when she actually worked in an office in downtown LA. This was of course before she really got into the "biz".

When I was tending bar in the late 60's at La Boucherie in the French Quarter, Donovan came in with his entourage and ordered a scotch/rocks. His date was Mia Farrow. The cheap _______ didn't even pay!

When I was at college in Liverpool, the Beatles were just another group at the Cavern, across the square from the college.
My wife and I preferred the Swinging Blue Jeans! And they're still around . .

In 2002 I took a photo of Amanda Seyfried (Mama Mia, Mean Girls, etc.) at our house for the HS prom. She was the date of one of my son's good friends, and Peg and I had rented one of the buses that looks like an old trolley for a group ten guys to take their dates to the prom. I photographed all the couples plus each couple and some candids of them all before they left. I need to dig them out some day...

I s'pose snorin' betwixt steps causes one to need to start all over again?

Many years ago when I was a freshman in college Milton Berle came to campus to do a weekend show. As I was walking up the street the morning of the show a large bus pulled up and off stepped Mr Berle, to ask directions to the location. I've always thought that was a nice gesture on his part since after all, he didn't need to do that the driver or his assistant could have. Made the day for an 18 year old small town boy.

But the one I missed was the year after I graduated. Red Skelton was there to do the same weekend show and he arrived the middle of the week and spent a couple days just wandering campus talking to people, signing autographs and talking pictures and walking into classes. wish I'd been there for that.

I was too polite to get up and intrude but: I had dinner with Steve Allen at a Holiday Inn once...

He was seated at another table. :jester:

I almost bumped into Harrison Ford once. He saw that I saw him and he knew I recognized him and he smiled. I just smiled back and left him alone.

I rode a chairlift with Clint Eastwood one time (you never know who you might meet in the singles line at a chair lift). I almost ran over William Shatner at his horse farm in Kentucky (apologized later in the riding arena when I was talking to his ranch manager), he's actually pretty cool when he's relaxed. Met Harrison Ford at a diner in Wilson Wyoming, not far from one of his houses and the locals there treat him like one of them. Have seen several celebrities in Aspen and Vail. When John Denver wasn't wrecking one of his Porsche's he would sometimes play on the sidewalk like a street performer in Aspen. Saw that a few times. My favorites are still meeting Carrol Shelby, Phil Hill, Bob Bondurant, Peter Brock and more of the Shelby boys at the Shelby American Collection's Holiday parties (met them all several times there now). Meeting and having a short chat with Sir Stirling Moss at Goodwood four years ago was also a highlight.

I gave Jorge Castaneda a ride from the airport in Dallas a few years ago. It was planned. He signed my copy of his book Companero about Che Guevara. Jorge was the Secretary of State of Mexico under Vincente Fox. We kept in touch for a while, then drifted apart.

I helped chauffeur Fleetwood Mac a few years ago during one of their Midwest tours.

Mick Fleetwod is TALL and very nice. The other band members were somewhat reserved.

I took a limo ride from Moon Twp. (PGH Intl.) to the Syria Mosque (Pitt concert venue) with Paul Butterfield back in my college days, hung out backstage with Jerry Garcia and the Dead at the same concert hall. Met Paul Newman, Dan Blocker and Robert Stack at the Glen (along with many other racers) AND rode an elevator in the Waldorf Astoria with Art Carney!!
