McCartney drove by my house

My senior year in high school I had a weekend job at the Anheuser Busch plant in Fort Collins. One of those weekends (not long after it opened) Augustus Busch (the "III" I believe) came to visit and they were going to do some advertising photos as well. This was during the "Spuds Mackenzie" and "Budweiser Girls" advertising campaigns. Two elevators in the place and they both get shut down during a power failure in the plant (that part of the county really). Augustus, his entourage and Spuds were on one elevator. Three Budweiser girls and myself, were on the other elevator. 15 minutes before the elevators got power back. Heaven for a 17 year old male.

Did they have ta POUR you from the elevator after it got to the destination? :smirk:

I just had lunch in the cafe where Peter Fonda filmed "Ulee's Gold"!

Years ago, my aunt and I were discussing people we had dated during high school and the differences in our generations as applied to parental involvement regarding whom one dated. In her day, my aunt and her girlfriends actually had a "scrapbook" type of thing that described a boyfriend, had his picture attached, pointed out his likes, dis-likes, traits... and so on.... The subject got onto people we had either known or dated during the HS years... She told me of a boy she had dated who rode a motorcycle which was a bad thing back then.... my grand parents scorned that.... but allowed her to date him anyway... but later on, he dropped out of high school, and the grandparents had a hissy-fit and forbade dear auntie to date him anymore.... declaring that without a college degree, he would never amount to anything.... He was A.J. Foyt! I was floored!

Back when I was a cook I cooked lunch for George Kennedy(french dip) and dinner for Cher(halibut fish and chips. When I lived in Monterey I worked with Clint Eastwood's babysitter, my dad sat next to Clint at a bar one time and a friend of mine worked at his restaurant in Carmel.
