McCartney drove by my house

I just read this morning that Paul McCartney was on an "under-the-radar" tour of route 66 and based on the route they said he took, he would have driven right past my house in Edgewood! He went up to Santa Fe and saw teh Georgia O'Keef exhibit among other things. The paper said people were quietly freaking as he walked around Sante Fe and other local areas. How cool is that!

I can see it now...sign in the front yard that declares "Paul McCartney rode by this spot on August 12, 2008."...hehehehe....property values escalating!

I heard about his run through St. Louis last week the day after. Our waiter at Lombardos actually waited on them. Great restaurant, has no windows which was probably one of the reasons why he went there. Anyways, some older couple insisted on paying for their dinner so they could get a napkin autographed. Even though he's driving a Bronco, I think he has the means to pay for his own dinner. I've been down there every night since signing napkins but nobody has paid for my dinner yet... :jester:

He passed by here, this past weekend, apparently in an 80's Ford Bronco.
Keep an eye out west....

Holy cow, I think I may have seen him! I was driving to work this weekend (normally I wouldn't be working on a weekend, but we're doing a proposal). I kid you not, I remember seeing some older SUV (I wasn't paying enough attention to remember if it was a Bronco, but it was that type) and it had New York plates. I only remember it because I remember thinking "he's a long way from home." Given the timing of when he was in Santa Fe and the route he'd have had to take, I'll bet I was driving behind Sir Paul on my way to work!

By the way, I wonder when we'll see the urinal he used on EBay

Forget it. I'm not selling my loo. Some of us are on the Original 66 a/k/a Whiskey Hill and he stopped by my house for a pit stop.

So, Basil....do you think he stopped at the Route 66 Cafe in Albuquerque?!

No idea. As far as I can tell, he came across I-40 west towards Albuquerque, then headed north to Santa Fe. In all likely hood, he would have turned north onto US14, called the "Turquoise Trail" to Santa Fe. That would have taken him through Madrid, where they filmed "Wild Hogs." If that's the case, then if it was him in the SUV with New York plates I saw in the AM on Saturday, then it would have been just before he turned north on 14.

Heard a guy who called in on the radio early this week who claimed he saw McCartney pumping gas into an older Bronco down in that part of the country. At the time I thought he was either mistaken or just making it up, who would think he'd be out by himself running around America. Guess he may very well have been right.

Who is Paul McCartney?

I am more of a Led Zeppelin fan.

Guess my politics.

Elvis Presley once hunted on the farm where my house is now located.

I met Kilroy.

I'm a give peace a chance, John Lennon fan who owns a limited edition signature version of his 1960's black and white Rickenbacker guitar. Guess my politics. On second thought DON'T guess my politics and I won't guess yours. It's the music I like. (and I like Zep too!)
