M*A*S*H vs. Super Bowl

According to the newspaper today, the Super Bowl edged out the MASH finale as the most-watched TV event in American history by 500,000 viewers. In 1983, approximately 106,000,000 Americans watched the final episode of MASH, while this past weekend, 106,500,000 Americans watched the Saints beat Colts.

However, since I'm bored, I decided to calculate the percentage of the overall U.S. population that watched each show. In 1983, the U.S. population was almost 234,000,000. With 106,000,000 viewers, that means that 45% of the country watched the MASH finale. Today, there are roughly 309,000,000 Americans. This means that with 106,500,000 viewers, roughly 35% of the country watched the big game.

So, by my math, MASH remains supreme!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

And I recall hearing that in New York City the sewage system was overloaded within five minutes of the end of M*A*S*H

If someone had a MASH marathon on alongside the superbowl (or any other football yawnathon) I'd watch it.

I watched the last episode of M.A.S.H. and the reruns late at nite for years thereafter. I also watched the last show Johnny Carson did.
Superbowl nite I was in the barn working on the GT6/Spit project listening to Eric Clapton & J.J. Cale. I waited for Alan Alda to show up in one of 'on loan from Triumph' TR6's, but he never did...

I told Kelly and a few other it would have been a GREAT time to rob a bank in N.O as NO ONE would have noticed or done anything about it.

Maybe, but people would just mosey in the next day and check the camera footage...
